Heartsong Hermitage began in the woodlands of Virginia. Over time other women seeking  eremitc, solitary and contemplative lives joined in the life of a Benedictine Hermit.

Ultimately, it is the power of God that makes us one.

Each of us is a mixture of splendid possibilities

and
dismal limitations.

May we be filled with the joy of knowing that the One

who began a good work in

each of us will be faithful to complete it.

.
Father, we ask forgiveness and enlightenment when we condemn those we don't understand.
We ask forgiveness and guidance for assuming to know all their is to know about each other, for defining, confirming, limiting, labeling, conditioning, interpreting and oppressing each other.
We ask forgiveness for excluding, withholding, insisting and resisting the inclusiveness of your love.
Amen.

Verse of the Day

I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Psalm 18:1-2 (KJV)

Neither wisdom nor prudence can exist where there is not fear of the Lord, because the wealth of wisdom is to revere the Lord, to whom belongs all glory ~Saint Ephraim
